“Let us reflect on what is truly of value in life, what gives meaning to our lives, and set our priorities on the basis of that.” – Dalai Lama
For today's Motivation Monday post, we feel inspired to write a little bit about how to discover and live your priorities. As we remember that we get to choose how we want to live our lives, we can reflect on what matters the most to us and design our lives around those things via our actions, experiences, and to-do's.

We can begin doing this by taking a little inventory of our life. Some questions we can ask ourselves are:
1. What is important to me? (any why?)
2. What are my top ten values? Top five? Top three? (and why?)
3. What do I believe in? (and why?)
4. Which areas of my life (i.e., community, finances, health, personal life, spirituality, work, etc.) do I spend the majority of my time, energy, and resources? (and why?)
5. What are my personal expectations and current life vision? Do they align with my values? (and why?)
6. Are my daily choices and commitments in service of my values and intentions, and do I have adequate time and energy to fulfill such choices and commitments? (and why?)
7. What, if any, distractions and unimportant things do I prioritize over my values? (and why?)
8. Do I give my time, energy, and resource to things that I don't want to do? (and why?)
From here, we can then move on to living out our values by reflecting on and answering the following questions:
1. What do I want to keep doing in the various areas of my life that affect my wellbeing, such as community, finances, health, personal life, spirituality, work, etc.? What do I want to change in those areas? What do I want to improve in those areas? (any why?) And how/when can I do so?
2. Before committing to something, do I take time to ponder if committing to it aligns with my values?
3. How can I be more intentional with my time, energy, resources?
4. Do I have a "to-do" list and "to-don't" list, and do they reflect my priorities?
