"Do not be too timid and squeamish about your actions. All life is an experiment." ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
For today's Wisdom Wednesday post, we're sharing a few thoughts on the importance of trying something new (ideally, every day)! Trying something new could mean anything one hasn’t done before, such as learning a new skill, going with the flow, doing routine tasks in a new way, etc. With this in mind, below are a few benefits of trying something new every day:

  1. Increases problem solving. There are times when we try something and it doesn’t work as we hoped or planned; when this happens, we can keep going by trying again but in a new way by trying something new or different.

  2. Stimulates the mind. Trying something new supports positive mental health by boosting our mood and expanding our thinking. Upon some reflection, it’s likely that this happened the last time you took a new route to a destination, walked along the scenic route, or traveled on vacation.

  3. Increases faith in ourselves. Trying new things reminds us of our resourcefulness and ingenuity, which can have a positive impact on self confidence!

  4. Enhances our connections. Trying new things connects us to each other and our environment as we make memories, seize opportunities, and learn about the world around us.

  5. Have more fun. Most importantly…trying new things adds more fun and zeal to our lives!
